In them I see myself

"

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.

Your playing small Does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking So that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, As children do. We were born to make manifest The glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; It's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, Our presence automatically liberates others".

So often I am given the opportunity to invest, encourage, motivate and plant myself in the lives of out youth.

this past week I sat back and watched our youth, on some you saw the drive and passion, in others you left the joy as the were announced as the winners on some you saw the casual look of uncertainty but what Could my eye was the reality in some.

a week long competition where flying in an airplane and staying in a hotel having three meals a day was unknown or should I say it was new to them. As the week continued they made new friends, got lost in the company of those that were once strangers and sang along to the laughter of their newly made friends.

But as the final day came along officials were excited to get back home after a long week but it was then when you began to see reality sink back into out kids as their faces went dull and the sound of their laughter began to fade, you could see their thoughts wondering slowly back to reality, the reality which awaits them.

I wish I could save them all, save them from poverty, alcoholic parents, abusive environments, households lacking love, care and naturing and save them from an unsafe world.

My heart breaks each time for in them I see myself, hungry for a better tomorrow, eager to change my world, but the world is so broken I could never save them all.

But it is when we begin to Liberate ourselves we automatically give others permission to do the same.

The only way I can save them is to continue to motivate, mentor encourage them, show them we are not our circumstance and be continuing to liberate myself I give them permission to do the same.
